| Emmanuel LE PERRU owns a Master’s Degree in Management from the Graduate Business School of Nice (Sophia Antipolis), with a concentration on entrepreneurship and intellectual property. Mr. LE PERRU started his career in 2001 as an international trade advisor with the American Chamber of Commerce in Mexico. Right after his stay in Mexico he was recruited by the Office of the President of the University of California System to manage the international technology outreach program of its office for technology transfer, one of the largest academic tech transfer office in the world. During one year he developed, for the 10 UC campuses (among which UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC Irvine and Santa Barbara), strategic technological / licensing partnerships with leading Asian and European research institutes and large companies. He also participated in venture capital fund-raising, and coordinated international researchers’ teams to detect technological synergies and business development opportunities. In October 2003 OSEO-Anvar, the French Agency for Innovation Development, chose him to be its representative in the United States at the Embassy of France in Washington DC. At his position he had to support the commercialization of French Biotech and Information Technology small businesses innovations in the U.S. market, through research & development partnerships with American companies or through venture capital fund-raising. He also fostered collaborations between OSEO-Anvar and its U.S. counterparts (Small Business Administration, Department Of Commerce, state tech councils, state economic development agencies). Mr. LE PERRU joined the French National Cancer Institute (INCA) in October 2005, 4 months after its creation, as associate director for business partnerships and financial aid management. He is in charge of the new programs launched by the institute to fund research and development projects that could lead to innovative diagnostics or therapeutic products through promising licences or creations of innovative companies. Given his experience, Mr. LE PERRU also develops INCA’s partnerships with industry and investors in North America and Asia. |
